[fic] Big Bang: three drabbles

Re-posted from [livejournal.com profile] bluefractures. These are the first ever drabbles I wrote of Big Bang and hopefully won't be the last.

"Okay, so there's one thing I don't get." Seungri flops down on the couch, resting his head on top of Jiyong's legs. He looks kind of lost, eyes confused and crinkling at the corners as he pulls a face.

Jiyong sighs slowly; he's got a feeling he's not going to like whatever will come next. "Really," he asks tonelessly, uninterested and looking at the TV screen. Seungri squirms in his lap, head lolling sideways as he crosses both arms on top of his chest.

"What's with the apple?" Seungri asks sullenly, arching an eyebrow. From where Jiyong is sitting (and watching) it's a very comical expression. He doesn't laugh, though, because that would be adding fuel to Seungri's set-on-fire thoughts. "I mean," he continues, "there's plenty of other fruits around. Why an apple?"

"I don't know," Jiyong shrugs, a sly smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He runs a hand through Seungri's dark hair, so intimately it makes Jiyong's chest flutter. He sees Seungri close his eyes and sigh contently, chest heaving. "I like apples."

Seungri squints an eye open and looks at Jiyong, still confused. "Only if they're peeled off. You choke with the skin."

Jiyong purses his lips. "Why are we talking about this?"

"I don't know," Seungri answers, laugh shinning in his words. "I was trying to make small talk, you know. Besides, I really wanted to know about the apple. I was thinking about asking manager-hyung to let me use a watermelon as the main theme for my next album."

Sometimes, there's just no way to shut Seungri up, honestly. It's cute, some part of Jiyong's brain says, but also maddening, another -- a pretty larger and wiser one, which Jiyong doesn’t really pay attention to -- seems to argue. Seungri smiles up then, cuddling closer until his cheek is pressed against Jiyong's stomach, and suddenly Jiyong sort of stops thinking.

He smiles down to Seungri, pinching the tip of his nose. "Shut up and kiss me already, you weirdo."

"You're missing the note, Daesung," Jiyong sighs tiredly, bumping his head against the wall next to him. Daesung looks up from his music sheet, eyes half lidded because he doesn't appreciate Jiyong's tone, no sir. "Again."

"Hey, don't look at me, alright," he retorts, flipping the pages with a bored expression, rolling his eyes when he catches Seungri's 'shut up, shut up, shut up' face. Really, that kid needs to grow a pair and stop doing everything Jiyong says or he'll end up just… wrong. "You wrote this stuff, you should've known I wouldn't reach that stupid note."

Youngbae steps in, holding both hands in the air. Daesung kind of wishes he wasn't so pacific sometimes. "Okay, guys, please," Youngbae says, looking imploringly at both of them. "Let's not fight over this, alright? Daesung," he turns eyes to look at Daesung, who suddenly wants to punch his face in because he really. needs. to. stop. being. so. fucking. peaceful. "Daesung, you've reached that note before. C'mon, I know you can do it. And Jiyong," he turns to look at Jiyong now, sighing tiredly because... well, it's Jiyong. "Stop complaining and look over your own singing, okay? We're all tired and we all want to go home so let's just get this over with. Come on, Seunghyun, your rap comes next."

Sometimes, Daesung thinks, as he picks up the ear-phones again, Youngbae acts more like a leader than Jiyong ever does, and maybe that's why they all work so well. Youngbae holds them together, that's what he does, always, no matter how tired he is or how hard the situation has become. That's something Daesung really appreciates because if it weren't for Youngbae, he would've already kicked the crap out of Jiyong.

But, hey, Daesung still loves him, because they've been friends before being group leader and group member.

"I'm sorry for snapping," Jiyong mutters hoarsely when they're home, leaning heavily against the bathroom's door frame. He looks tired, exhausted, something like what Daesung's seeing right this instant in the mirror. "I just. I haven't slept much lately and you know I'm cranky when I'm tired."

Daesung smiles, because this has happened before, and he's sure, convinced, it will happen again. He doesn't hate the idea, is always good to have things to spice up the situation, right? Even if it means feeling like smothering Jiyong with a pillow or beating Seungri's ass with a mic pole or wishing Seunghyun would just choke with his noodle soup, and stuff like that.

This is how they work, how they blend and hold each other together, how things are and the way it feels right and like home.

"No worries, hyung," Daesung smiles back, turning the lights off as he makes his way out of the bathroom. He pats Jiyong in the back, a non-spoken it really is okay, and I'm sorry, too. Jiyong nods, gets the message -- because they know each other that well -- and smiles some more.

It's maybe the well defined jaw, or perhaps the high cheekbones. Jiyong fails -- over and over -- whenever he tries to understand what is it that Seunghyun's got that makes him so attractive; because he's asked around and everyone seems to say the same, only with different words: "I don't know what it is, but there's something about him. Something that screams for attention and the next thing you know is you're staring."

Jiyong has stared so many times it's almost embarrassing. Almost, because he knows Seunghyun knows it already and it didn't turn out to be as much of a shock as he thought it would be. But, hey, he's allowed to stare, he's the leader after all, and if there's something he's proud of it's he's a good leader, okay.

"Dude," Seungri complains, throwing a couch cushion in Jiyong's direction and missing by a mile. "I can hear your brain gearing all the way over here, stop it."

Jiyong's eyes dart back to Seungri and he purses his lips. "Shut up, kid. Keep watching your cartoons."

Seungri's arms seem to flail around him like a big blur of blue sleeves and tons of fingers; it reminds Jiyong of an octopus -- a thin, squealing octopus in this particularly case. "The Simpsons are not cartoons, alright."

Jiyong doesn't answer because he knows it'll never end if he does and besides, he's too busy thinking about Seunghyun who, by the way, is nowhere to be seen. Good leaders always know where they fellow bandmates are, damn it. "Where's Seunghyun?"

"Do I look like his mom to you?" Seungri's sharp tongue retorts, eyes glued to the TV. Jiyong is really thinking about shoving the appliance up Seungri's— "I think he's showing Daesung how to rap back in their room."

Jiyong stands up without another word, and makes his way to the room Daesung and Seunghyun share. He doesn't knock, mainly because the door is open and then because Kwon Jiyong doesn't knock. Seunghyun is sitting at the end of his bed, with Daesung next to him, and they're both concentrated at whatever's on Seunghyun's laptop screen.

"Hey, guys," Jiyong says amiably, hoping up on the bed and crawling to where they're both sitting. He rests his cheek in Seunghyun's shoulder and tilts his head sideways to get a better view of what they're looking at.

Seunghyun bumps his head against his lightly then, a mere graze that says, hey back. Jiyong smiles faintly, distantly listening as Daesung rattles off about nothing and everything at the same time because all his attention seems to focus in the shoulder pressed against his cheek and the whole body conjoined to it.

He doesn't know what Seunghyun's got, and to be honest, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't because at the end of the day, when Seunghyun crawls into his bed and holds him tight and whispers about his day and talks about his frustrations and sorrows, Jiyong understands what is it that makes Seunghyun so especial to him.

It's beyond love, beyond attraction, and judging by the way not even himself does, he's sure no one will quite understand what it is; and he's okay with that.
